Dear GCC Family:

It was so good to worship with all of you again yesterday! I’m grateful for your supportiveness of my study break and the warm welcome back. As we begin a new week, I want to quickly share a few things with you …

1. In yesterday’s message, we unpacked what salvation is, why it matters, and how we receive that gift. We highlight specific next steps every Sunday, but I want you to know how wide-open God’s invitation is, and that you can take your next step with Jesus at any time. If you’re not confident about where you stand with Jesus, we’d love to answer any questions you have and help you surrender more fully to Him. 2. Last evening’s NextGen Night was a lot of fun! By the end of this week, all of our kids and students will be back in school, and as we settle into that new groove, I want to encourage all of us to remain focused on our families’ spiritual growth. There’s no shortage of activities available to us, and while many of these opportunities are good and worthwhile, we all have a limited amount of time and energy to give. So in every season, it’s vital to the spiritual health of our families—and the strength of our church—that we prioritize Jesus and connection with His people. There are lots of opportunities at GCC for kids and students to draw closer to Jesus and build Christ-centered friendships, and you can stay in the loop about all of them by subscribing to our emails and following GC Kids and/or GC Students on social media.

3. I know many of us struggle to maintain spiritual focus because our lives are so busy and noisy. If you recognize that pattern in yourself, I recommend John Mark Comer’s book The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry. I read it during my study break, and it’s been very helpful to me in refocusing and strengthening some of my daily spiritual habits.
