In Spirit. In Truth.

the worship & arts at GCC
John 4:24
spirit/truth worship. . . We believe that we were created to worship, and that genuine worship occurs when our both the heart and mind is involved in the experience. This approach to worship transcends age differences, styles and trends, and traditions. With one solid Biblical principle communicated and supported through creativity and the arts, we are unified in worship together. We are drawn closer to the Holy. We are…EnGaged.
we want to become…
a community of artists engaged in a creative synergy to draw people close to God.
we place high value on…
n Intentionality. Doing less, but more focused stuff results in greater impact.
n Leadership. A culture of developing leadership allows us to get more done because everyone
has different strengths and weaknesses.
n Community. A safe place for artists, techies, band geeks, and other weirdoes to
collaborate, sweat and do life together is messy and challenging, but worth it.
n Evaluation. It takes guts to ask “” and “”but “H0w did we do?” “Ho could we have done
better” it’s the only way to celebrate our wins and learn from our mistakes’.
n Well ordered hearts & lives. We bring more to the team than just our talents; being a part of
this community helps us to get our own issues straightened out.
we shoot for…
n Excellence. "That was good."
n Authenticity. "Those people are real."
n Creativity. "That kept my attention the whole time."
n Transcendent moments. "I was moved..”
n Transformational teaching. "That really mattered."
Worship Band. Talented players who can read chord charts, learn new songs quickly, memorize easily and play well with others should audition. Contact the Worship Office for audition information.
Worship Singers. Talented singers who can pick up lead or harmony (alto or tenor) quickly, memorize lyrics quickly, sing in tune and have a solo quality voice should audition. Contact the Worship Office for audition information.
Choirs & Ensembles. Various singing groups are used to accomplish different purposes throughout the year for seasonal productions and in our weekend services. Auditions are not required for participation in a choir, but advance registration is a must. For a Vocal Ministry Registration Card, contact the Worship Office.
Technical Arts. Technology is very important to all that we do. Audio, video, lighting & multi media all support our weekend services and enhance the message we present. Those who are interested in becoming involved and are willing to receive training for one or more area of technical arts can contact the Worship Office for more information.
Creative Arts. We utilize the arts to help communicate in our weekend services. We find that people are drawn into the experience more when the Biblical theme comes alive through drama or visual arts. Talented actors, writers, painters or builders ought to contact the Worship Office for more information.
Youth Music. Opportunities exist for kids and students of all ages to develop singing and creative arts…
