Service Opportunities
Funeral Dinners
This team provides a meal when requested for a bereaved family of GCC. Our team is large so you may only be called once or twice a year. This team needs those who will serve the meal, prepare a dish, make phone calls, set up and clean up. Please call Mary Ann Hensley 881-4089 to volunteer. This would be a front porch area of service where you would begin in serving and ministry.
Martha Circle
This group of women meet together on the fourth Wednesday morning each month for refreshments, conversation, sometimes a special speaker or a work project. These ladies have been meeting faithfully for many years as they seek to encourage those that are sick and shut-in, the college kids, military and missionaries across the world. Prayer Team
This team is made up of volunteers who never have to attend a meeting but they are committed to praying for Women’s Ministry on a daily basis. Each month they receive a list of items to pray for in addition to praying for each other and the Women’s Ministry leadership team. If you are tied to your home most of the time because of season of life or illness but you can pray, then this is the place of service for you. Call 881-9336 ext. 321 or email debbie@greenwoodchristian.com to start receiving the prayer lists. This is a kitchen table level of ministry because the Prayer Team takes a very big commitment. Sitting at the table with the Lord on a daily basis interceding for Women’s Ministry is the highest level of ministry in this area.
Event Implementation Team
The Vision and Planning Leadership Team plans out a year in advance the events, Bible Studies and activities for Women’s Ministry but the Event Implementation Team will put the plans into action. This team would meet depending on the event or project to complete the plans and receive assignments but the biggest part of their responsibilities will take place within days of the event for final preparations, the event itself and clean-up or follow-up. If you are a doer and like the details of everything then this is an area of service that would be recommended. Some of the details would include food preparation, crafting, greeting, serving, set-up, decorating, ticket sales, registrations and organizing. The Implementation teams are a part of our living room atmosphere where we are committed to knowing one another and have stepped up to a greater level of commitment to ministry.
